Malnutrition among underprivileged children poses a severe threat to their physical growth, cognitive development, and overall well-being, especially in children under five years of age. This issue stems from a lack of access to nutritious food, inadequate healthcare, and limited awareness of proper nutrition, perpetuating cycles of poor health and inequality. Nutrition deficiencies inflict long-term damage to both individuals and society.
The Chiranjeevi project combats malnutrition through nutritional support by providing essential nutrients and balanced meals to undernourished children. It collaborates with local communities, schools, ICDS, and healthcare centres to ensure consistent monitoring of children’s nutritional and BMI status. The programme also educates caregivers and parents about nutrition, hygiene, and the importance of a balanced diet, addressing the root causes of malnutrition while fostering long-term sustainable change.
