Transforming Tribal Hockey in Odisha

Hockey has deep roots in Odisha and immense potential yet aspiring tribal players—especially young girls—face significant barriers due to limited training facilities, resources, and opportunities. Without structured support, local talent struggles to reach state and national platforms.

Through a strategic partnership with the International Hockey Federation (FIH) as a Global Partner, Jindal Foundation is building a strong hockey ecosystem in Odisha. The initiative provides intensive training to over 5,000 aspiring tribal players, guided by professional coaches. A specialised programme for 100 young tribal girls includes regular coaching, sports kits, and nutritional support, empowering them to compete confidently at state and national levels.
