Rural and underprivileged communities often experience a severe teacher shortage, leading to excessively high pupil-teacher ratios that violate RTE Act norms. This negatively impacts classroom learning quality, contributing to low enrollment, increased dropout rates, and poor educational outcomes.

To address teacher shortages, the Jindal Foundation recruits, trains, and deploys community teachers, supplementing existing school staff. Currently, 277 honorary community teachers serve over 140 local medium schools. This initiative aims to improve pupil-teacher ratios, strengthen classroom instruction, ensure full enrollment, and eliminate dropouts, ultimately providing students with the individualised attention they need to succeed.
