A premier institute dedicated to fostering excellence

India's power sector faces a growing demand for technically trained professionals capable of operating and maintaining large-scale power plants. This skills gap, particularly in thermal power plants, hinders efficiency and performance. A key contributing factor is the lack of practical, hands-on training opportunities that effectively translate theoretical knowledge into real-world expertise.

Jindal Institute of Power Technology (JIPT), recognised by Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power, Government of India, as a category-1 Institute, provides specialised training programmes aimed at producing highly skilled professionals for the power utilities sector. Located within the 4X250 MW + 4X600 MW Jindal Thermal Power Plant in Tamnar, Chhattisgarh, JIPT offers state-of-the-art facilities, including dynamic simulators for both fresh graduates and experienced engineers. The Institute combines classroom learning with real-world exposure. The institute aims to develop highly skilled professionals for power utilities both in India and internationally, equipping students to operate and maintain power generating stations with capacities of 100 MW and above. Furthermore, the institute provides vocational training for engineering students and power plant personnel, offering customised programmes tailored to the specific needs of power utilities worldwide.
