Elderly abuse and abandonment have escalated in India, particularly due to labour migration post COVID-19. Many elderly individuals, particularly those suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia, are left homeless with no access to food, shelter, or medical care, deeply impacting their physical and mental health.
The Jindal Foundation has partnered with the Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to address the growing crisis of elderly abandonment. The initiative provides holistic care and essential services for over 450 elderly individuals at Garhmukteswar. At the Delhi location, the services include nutritious meals, clothing, health and mental health support, 24/7 caregiving, and medical care. The project also includes essential components like pathology tests, clean and spiritual living environments, and proper energy and accommodation solutions.
